New York - Day 1 - The Proposal

Up and out early again! We went to have Breakfast in the Hotel and loaded up on some great food since we were going to be on the train to New York from Boston. We made it to the train station too early, but the kids managed to keep things going with their electric personalities!

The train picked us up at 11:10AM and we rode through Rhode Island, Conn. and then New York. It was a smooth ride and more welcomed than the plane was. We had power in the seats and everyone was excited to charge their media devices. We made it to New York at 3:40PM and quickly grabbed a cab. Our bags were heavy enough that we did not want to walk. Had we known we hired the cabbie from Hell we would have walked. I was in the lead cab with two of the kids and Kim was behind us. My cabbie took us way out of the way to a different Marriot. Long story short, when we finally had some sense talked into him on our hotel location, he took us down Times Sq!! It was sooo fun!

Getting into the room was a process. One room was ready, the second was not. We finally got the key for our room and WOW!! Someone had flowers in the room all!! A dozen RED Roses! Who could that have been?? If you guessed Kim... Wrong!! She did assk Brennen if there might be a ring in the bouquet. (Not yet baby! Snicker) lol

We settled into the room and went down about 6PM. Once we got to the street I broke the news to everyone... For the next three hours we were going to be in a Limo touring the city!! You should have seen the look on Kim's face!! WOW! We hopped in and started on the trip. What amazing sites in this city! The limo driver said we were at Rockafeller center and people were all looking at the tree. I suggested we should get out and look. (Wink, Wink) It was a big crowd and (of course the support of the kids was a key element of this)... I took Kim's hand and walked her near the tree. I saw her fiddle with her camera and when she was looking at it, I got down on my knee. As I was heading down, I said "Baby, we are not here just for the tree! Will you do me the honor of marrying me?" With the box of the ring open and the shock and awe on Kim's face, her YES was heard just before we noticed the crowd around us had all joined in to cheer us on!

Hungry, our driver (which did a fantastic job for three hours of city driving) took us to a Pizza place that filled us up as we kept driving around. Our driver took us to Brooklyn. Kim and I got a picture taken at night under the bridge. (nearly under) He drove us to Central Park, down Fifth Ave, Park Ave and back home.

We all went back out again and splurged on some Milk and Duncan Donuts. Bedtime for us now, we start it all over again tomorrow.

Kim has been staring at her new Bling Bling... :) I am emotionaly happy and completely undeserving... but ever so greatful for her yes!
